Heirloom Fundraiser
Info
Join us for an evening of analogue film, music and community bonding to raise funds to restore two unique pieces of heirloom lab equipment, which we would like to make publicly available to our community for the archiving and production of analogue films.
We love sharing space with you and are very excited to do it on a much bigger scale than our premises allow, thanks to the support of Reference Point, our kind host.
This evening will give you the opportunity to make a film with us on the spot! We will offer a sample session of our Direct Animation workshop, collate all your animated frames and edit them together for a screening at the end of the evening. We will also showcase works made by the not/nowhere crew, mostly shot on analogue film, followed by a Q&A about how our Lab Upgrade will have a huge impact on how we recover films made by BIPOC filmmakers, expanding the breadth of conservation practices and also of analogue experimental film now. Throughout the evening our very own Sandra Jean Pierre will be doing a special DJ set.
Come join us for delicious nibbles, drinks and good energy to celebrate all the work we’ve done so far in our film Lab and the upcoming launch of its expanded services.
We will also be launching our very own not/nowhere merchandise to go along with the upcoming Heirloom autumn programme, which will be available for purchase during the event.
We are hosting this fundraising event to support the upgrade of our heritage equipment. After 7 years of laborious and loving repairs, we have the opportunity to modify our Contact Printer to make colour prints and upgrade the software for our Optical Printer. This equipment will revitalise analogue film practice and conservation by being the only community available machines of this kind in England!
Can’t join the screening but still want to support the work? You can support our crowdfunder. More details HERE:crowdfunder.co.uk/p/notnowhere
