DIY Producing

Info

Little money, little time - big ideas. This online session will offer tips and tricks on producing projects with the resources in your home, local communities and available creative networks - whilst producing with attentive listening, care and kindness.

How does one develop a project where everyone has the chance to explore their desires in the healthiest ways? What sacrifices or dedications does a producer make to ensure the strength of the team? How does a producer decide the hierarchy of importance when delegating tasks and spending money?

Samara has a vibrant experience of producing music videos, short films, exhibitions, workshops and screenings from make-shift and DIY beginnings. Most of which were pulled out of shoestring budgets, last minute delivery times and a mixture of observation & luck. Samara will be sharing her strengths in pre-production and production as a reference for the presentation and exercises.

The session will include:

  • Stages of production
  • How to break down your budget
  • Creating a schedule, working backwards
  • The needs of the crew and participants / cast
  • Delegating tasks
  • Discussion around paying yourself versus volunteering time - love of the game

Join us in this cosy online session to support you making your next project happen!
